Henry Olonga is not only known for his cricket accolades, but for a protest he and teammate Andy Flower undertook at the 2003 World Cup. The pair wore black armbands as a symbol of mourning the 'death of democracy' in response to actions by Zimbabwe’s leader Robert Mugabe. Following the protest, Henry received death threats in Zimbabwe, lost his career and was forced to flee his country and start a new life in the UK, and then in Australia.
